Several weeks ago, we informed you of our Sixth Walther Leisler Kiep Symposium to take place in Berlin on June 14-15, 2023. We sincerely hope that you have marked this special event in your schedule. In the meantime, we have convened a singular group of experts and are looking forward to memorable insights and thoughtful analysis.
We cordially invite you to this year’s Walther Leisler Kiep Symposium on the topic
The Demise of Globalization? Finding Pathways between Confrontation and Cooperation
Over recent years, we have experienced a period of significant global change. In addition to the acceleration of climate change, we are living through a global pandemic, a war in Europe, simmering U.S.-China tensions, high inflation as well as energy supply and trade disruptions. Once-believed certainties like the ever-growing interdependence of states and the never-ending frenzy of trade, capital and information flows have become increasingly doubtful. In these challenging times, even the most stoic of leaders struggle to cope with the myriad of world crises.
How can leaders chart new courses while ensuring that the impacts of recent crises do not impose a burden on societies and economies? Has globalization reached the end of the line or is a resurgence in sight? What does the future of growth look like and what policies are needed to stabilize the global economy? Are we seeing the beginning of a more multipolar, regionalized world order? Where does the EU fit into this new scheme, especially if enlargement towards the East succeeds?
We greatly look forward to seeing you on June 14 and 15 for another enriching Walther Leisler Kiep Symposium and request that you please register via the form below.
