XXXIV Berlin Global Forum, February 18 2019

For most of us, the term ‘robot’ brings to mind vivid images of car assembly lines, unmanned drones, or deep space. The term ‘artificial intelligence’ (AI), however, may be a bit more difficult to grasp. This software, which enables computers to learn independently, is quickly becoming the basis for future innovations in robotics, medical diagnostics and autonomous vehicles. In fact, AI is driving most of today’s technological innovations. Soon, it will shape every sector of the economy, boosting productivity everywhere from manufacturing plants to law firms. Additionally, AI will also play an increasingly central role in defense. However, the adoption of AI has also raised questions about its potential misuse as an instrument of social control, as well as the technology’s impact on labor markets.

IV München Global Forum, Febuary 04, 2019

The future lies in space, agreed the participants of the IV München Global Forum, who were introduced to the topic “SPACE – THE NEW PLACE? Opportunities and Risks of Space Traffic”.  The catchword “New Space” played an important role, as the term summarizes the multitude of new business models for the commercial use of space.  Read more

IX New York Global Forum, December 13, 2018

On December 13, with the holidays right around the corner, Global Bridges Members, Young Leaders Alumni, and invited guests convened in New York City in high spirits for Global Bridges’ IX New York Global Forum. Two esteemed guest speakers, former US Ambassador Dr. Cameron Munter and Global Bridges Member and successful London banker Mr. Axel K. A. Hansing, joined those in attendance at the Deutsches Haus for a morning of fascinating talks and energetic, productive discussions. German Consul General to New York David Gill, a former Young Leader, graciously hosted the event.
